Most problems are one of six things. If yours isn’t here, the app can send us everything we need in one tap, and a person reads it.
Send a report from the app
On the computer: Settings → Help → Report a problem. On the phone: Settings → Report a problem. Write what happened and send. Reports include the app’s own logs, nothing personal and no file names, and they only go out when you press Send. Reports are what fix things: every fix in the last month started as one.
The common fixes
- The phone can’t find my computer
- Both need to be on the same Wi-Fi, and LAN sharing must be on in the desktop app (Settings → Library → LAN Streaming). Then tap Join a library again, or scan the code on the computer’s screen.
- The invite code says it has expired or been used
- An everyday invite works once and for a short while. Make a new one on the computer: Profile → Create remote invite. Away from home, invites need Ampchor Pro on the computer.
- A film starts but stops after a few seconds
- Usually the computer went to sleep or the drive the film lives on spun down. Wake the computer, and in its power settings stop it sleeping while Ampchor runs.
- Something shows the wrong title or artwork
- Open it, choose Edit, and either fix the name or pick the right match. Ampchor keeps your choice and stops guessing.
- A file is in the folder but not in the library
- Ampchor rescans on its own when files change. If it hasn’t caught up, Settings → Library → Rescan.
- A game stutters when it starts
- The first few seconds settle as the stream finds its speed, especially away from home. If it keeps stuttering, the computer is likely busy: close a scan or a second stream.
